New Zealand Public Holidays
New Zealand observes the public holidays listed below. In addition are regional
holidays that are observed only locally, not throughout the whole of New
Zealand. Whilst banks, government departments and businesses close on public
holidays, most shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and other facilities remain
open, though often with shorter hours. The exception is Christmas Day when just
about everything is closed.
